F* Full Tilt Poker
Last year I read an article that detailed the events of a particular tournament. In this tournament, it was extremely obvious, once you read what each player started out with and what came on the board after, that there was some serious cheating going on. And while I understand that on-line poker sites are filled with extremely lucky idiots, the logs clearly showed insider knowledge, for example, why would a player go all in with 7-2 off suit, pre-flop, yet fold ak suited?
The method behind it is actually very simple.
On-line poker sites use pre-dealt hands. The computer generated hands are first created, then they have to be verified that the winning hand is actually correct (it’s a bit tough for the computer to understand the concept of face cards). Then, these pre-dealt hands are entered into a database which then in turn deals to real players.
Now, FTP operators need to have access to these databases and each individual hand for the purposes of having a record in case a dispute comes in. Of course, these disputes could be in the case where 4 10’s beat a straight flush (the verification process could have missed the real winning hand).
So let’s say my good friend Bob is now a part of the operators at full tilt, I’m sitting on the button with 7-2 off suit, I tell him the hand number, he looks it up on the database, he sees that the big blind has A K off suit, but knows that two 7’s and a 2 will make their way on the board. He tells me that I have the winning hand and to bet big because the fool on the big blind is likely going to not only call, but go all-in.
Unfortunately for me, I was the fool with AK on the big blind, and the player on the button with his 7 2 was the one with the friend at FTP.
How can FTP prevent this type of abuse? Easy, deny access to hands that have not been played and put a 5 minute delay before the hands can be looked up through the database.
Of course, it is quite plausible that FTP has a room full of ‘players’ that pick up hands from bots to give it the realism of having someone actually type into the chat window, and as far as they’re concerned, they want the cheating to go on because they’re making more money by cheating anyway..
So in short, F* Full Tilt Poker.

First of all: Whats FTPs benefit from Cheaters? The money for buy-ins would be paid anyway and the rakes in cashgames will also come in, regardless who wins.
Second: Do you have the link to the article with the detailed description of this case? Because currently, i have to trust your version and you sound a bit paranoid about this. I experienced situations like this in live games, too. But there u cant blame a database. And i know how angry poker players can get when losing against someone who is playing “stupid”.
So your version could be true, but could easily just some paranoid vision as well. Please, more sources.

The cheating does not need to benefit FTP, but maybe an individual that works there for what could be minimum wage. But are you so naive to not think that MONEY might also be a benefit?
Read the following article:
http://casinosmack.com/blog/the-absolute-poker-scandal/
The excel spreadsheet they speak about used to be easily available on-line, but seems to have mostly disappeared.. maybe I should have downloaded it back then, but I too thought that people were being paranoid…

But the article you posted is about UB and Absolute Poker, not FullTilt. So, it doesn’t mean you are right.
The experience you posted sounds like something anyone who has played online (and sometimes in person) has run into countless times. You think because someone went all in with a 7-2 and beat you AK, that means they cheated? If cheating were so prevalent, I probably would have never won a tournament, but I have, a few times 500-2000 people tournaments on fulltilt.

As for theory - you have to explore it yourself. As for practice - maybe I could give some help. I found an interesting program on one of the thematic forum recently. It searches for combination automatically. Nice one, though poor in interface.
Program is based on Martingale system with the changed algorithm. It`s based on searching and waiting a series of results («red or black» usually). But this one I got is for «head or tail».
There were discussions «pro and against» this soft, but I downloaded it and explored for about half an hour and left it in automatic mode till next evening. What I found in the morning was 250WM.
But use this soft shrewdly, admins in casinos do not welcome these things.

Poker will always be a combination of skill and luck. But the distinction sits differently upon the backs of some players, and the most skilful make their own luck when it comes to tournament poker.
